The blue ocean
Always gives people boundless imagination.
Surrounded by it on all sides,
Ironically,
People in Taiwan hold such distant attitude towards it.

We must not wait until the lovely dolphins and whales are gone
To find only dirty grease and garbage float on the sea.
We must not wait until a closer look at the seashore is taken
To realize how badly the ocean has been polluted.
We must not wait until life forms under the sea are dwindling
To regret not having got to know about them.

The ocean is such a fertile reservoir
That all Taiwanese as children of the ocean,
Must cherish it harder than anyone,
Making the marine culture cleaner and shinier.

Hark carefully at the tides washing the shores.
What is it
That the ocean is trying to tell us?
