Summer Arrives in Taroko

Green is a summer color of Taroko’s;

The light green within the gorge has already darkened;

All the trees are lush and plentiful;

The macaques and birds forage among the trees for wild fruits;

The Atrophaneura horsihana butterflies search the wild flowers for nectar.

Blue is another of Taroko’s summer colors;

Qingshui cliff overlooks the azure Pacific Ocean;

Above the azure Pacific is the deep blue sky;

Within these blue skies, a few hundred swifts abound;

Technical masters of flight, these birds whistle their song.

The sapphire blue waters of Shakadang River are lined by wrinkled marble,

Appearing as if it telling its tales from times long since passed.

In fact Taroko has multitudinous summer colors!

Hehuan Villa, Qilai, and Nanhu are spectacles of lush greenery at first glance;Upon closer inspection, though, all colors are represented;

Upon the rubble from the mountains lay delicate vegetation wantonlyspread out; Dianthus pygmaeus, Gentiana scabrida, Denophora triphylla, Rosatransmorrisonensis, Goldenrod, Geranium, Hypericum nagasawae, Small LeafEdelweiss.

Red, yellow, white, violet, blue.

These colors are indicative of the elegance of life.
