Lunar New Year Bonus Welcome at Taroko- Music • Markets • Guided Trails • Free Electric-Assist Bike Tours

Wondering how to spend the Lunar New Year holiday? Taroko National Park has prepared extra festive activities to welcome visitors!
In addition to visitor centers remaining open throughout the holiday, the park is offering tribal music concerts, cultural markets, guided trail walks, and free electric-assist bicycle tours, making it easy to explore the mountain and coastal communities surrounding Taroko.

Whether you are returning home, traveling, or just passing through, you are warmly invited to stop by and experience the fresh, early-spring atmosphere of Taroko.

Visitor Centers Open During the Lunar New Year

During the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday, the Taroko, Lushui, Tianxiang, and Mt. Hehuan visitor centers and exhibition halls will remain open and provide visitor services, except on February 16 (Lunar Chinese New Year’s Eve), when facilities will be closed.

Tribal Music Concerts & Cultural Market

From February 19 to February 21 (the 3rd to 5th day of the Lunar New Year), a three-day Taroko Tribal Music Concert will be held at the Taroko Terrace.
Local Indigenous singers and music and dance groups will perform, alongside stalls featuring traditional Truku crafts, cultural creative products, and local farmers’ goods, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the rich Truku cultural atmosphere.

Guided Trail Walks

After browsing the market, visitors are welcome to join guided walks on the Taroko Terrace Trail.
Led by professional volunteer interpreters, these short and easy walks offer a wonderful introduction to Taroko’s forests and natural environment without requiring much time or physical effort.

Hiking Options for Outdoor Enthusiasts

For those with more time and energy, hiking is also a great choice.
From the Taroko Terrace Trail, the route extends upward to the Dekalun Trail. After about 30 minutes of uphill walking, hikers can enjoy panoramic views of the lower Liwu River and the mountains meeting the sea.
The Dekalun Trail further connects to the Dali and Datong Trails. By reserving accommodation in advance at Dali or Datong tribal villages, an overnight stay in the mountain communities will surely become a memorable highlight of your trip.

Free Electric-Assist Bicycle Experience

Another relaxing way to explore Taroko is by riding electric-assist bicycles.
Visitors can easily tour Taroko Terrace, Taroko Entrance, Fushi, Chongde, and Xincheng communities, enjoying mountain and ocean scenery while discovering the unique history hidden within these settlements.
Online reservation in advance allows free rental of electric-assist bicycles.

Activity period: January 14 – February 28, 2026

Take a Break at the Visitor Center

Whether you’re enjoying music, visiting the market, walking the trails, or cycling through communities, you can always take a rest at the visitor center.
After more than a year, the Taroko Visitor Center gift shop has also reopened for trial operation just in time for the Lunar New Year!
No matter the weather, relaxing with a cup of coffee while gazing at Taroko’s mountains is a truly soothing experience.
