As the year ends and a new one begins, it is a wonderful time for families to reunite and enjoy spring outings. The Yushan National Park Administration (YSNP) states that Yushan (Mt. Jade) is not only the highest peak in Taiwan but also our "Guardian Mountain," protecting this land and allowing us to stand firm through every passing year. To welcome the upcoming Lunar New Year and the February 28th holidays, YSNP cordially invites everyone to look up and seek out that majestic silhouette during their travels home or on vacation. We encourage you to capture its image as it watches over Taiwan and feel the peace and harmony brought by this sacred mountain.

A Surprise on the Highway: Can You Spot Yushan?
YSNP points out that during the holidays, many people will travel through Taichung, Nantou, Changhua, Yunlin, and Chiayi. While enjoying a leisurely journey as a passenger on the highway, expressway, or Taiwan High-Speed Rail, try looking toward the East—you might just encounter a breathtaking surprise. Above the stretching Central Mountain Range, the sharpest and most prominent peak is Yushan. YSNP invites the public: "Try to guess which one is Yushan! Take a photo and remember its majestic silhouette." This is not just a visual treasure hunt; it is a profound connection to our land. Perhaps one day in the future, you will stand upon its shoulders and see for yourself the panoramic beauty of the island it protects.

The Spirit of the Sacred Mountain: Resilience, Harmony, and Inclusion
Yushan is more than a symbol of Taiwan's geographical height; it is a spiritual anchor for our people. In the past, no matter how the world changed, Yushan has always stood steady at the heart of Taiwan. YSNP expresses that we should be grateful for this sacred mountain, which allows us to pass a peaceful year with mutual tolerance and love under its protection. When you see Yushan from afar—whether you are awestruck by its greatness or comforted by its tranquility—please remember that this guardian strength is always there with us.
