The Yushan National Park Headquarters under the National Park Service, Ministry of the Interior, will host the 2026 Yushan National Park Youth Camp, "Youth Camp," during the summer vacation months of July and August. A total of four sessions will be offered. Registration will be open from 8:00 a.m. on June 8 through 6:00 p.m. on June 19, 2026. Interested applicants may register through the official event registration website of Yushan National Park Headquarters. The camp is open to students in Grades 10–12. Through this three-day, two-night "Youth Camp" program, participants will have the opportunity to connect with a national park environment, foster a commitment to mountain conservation, and learn the principles of risk management. Through the mountaineering experience, students will gain a deeper understanding of teamwork while developing a sense of responsibility, care for others, and stewardship of the nation's natural landscapes.

Ascend Yushan Main Peak and Experience the Beauty of Yushan

According to Yushan National Park Headquarters, the journey begins at Tataka, at an elevation of 2,610 meters, passing Menglu Pavilion (Monroe Pavilion), the White Wood Forest, and Daciaobi (The Great Precipice). Participants will enjoy the fresh mountain air, immerse themselves in the phytoncides released by lush forests, and admire alpine flowers and grasses blooming throughout the valleys, as well as the resilience of towering coniferous and broadleaf trees. After an overnight stay at Paiyun Lodge to rest and replenish their energy, participants will continue through high-elevation fir forests and alpine vegetation zones before traversing the winding zigzag scree trail to reach Yushan Main Peak (3,952 meters above sea level). From the summit, they will be rewarded with sweeping views of nature's grandeur and the magnificent layered mountain landscapes stretching in every direction.

Strengthening Pre-Trip Training to Build Independent Mountaineering Skills

To enhance mountain safety awareness among young people, Yushan National Park Headquarters has arranged a pre-trip training program focused on developing independent mountaineering skills. The camp will also incorporate educational sessions on ecological conservation, habitat protection, and mountain safety. Through a progressive, step-by-step approach, participants will learn the importance of thorough preparation and physical conditioning before embarking on a mountain expedition, helping them achieve the goal of safe mountaineering while experiencing the beauty of Yushan firsthand. A total of four camp sessions will be offered:

Session 1: July 19 (Sunday) to July 21 (Tuesday), 2026

Session 2: July 22 (Wednesday) to July 24 (Friday), 2026

Session 3: August 11 (Tuesday) to August 13 (Thursday), 2026

Session 4: August 26 (Wednesday) to August 28 (Friday), 2026

Each session will accommodate 24 participants. The registration fee is NT$7,300 per person. Full subsidies are available for students from low-income households, with a total of four subsidized places available across all sessions. Supporting documentation is required, and each household is limited to one subsidized participant.
