The "30th Kinmen National Park International Conference" held from August 22nd to 24th concluded successfully. The event brought together domestic and international experts and scholars from the United States, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and Taiwan to review the achievements of Kinmen National Park in preserving traditional architecture, revitalizing historical battle sites, and protecting ecosystems since its establishment in 1995.
The Kinmen National Park Headquarters actively restores traditional Minnan houses and Western-style buildings, driving the regeneration of local settlements. In terms of battlefield culture, the Headquarters takes over and restores military strongholds and facilities, combining exhibitions, music festivals, and experiential tours to promote environmental education and tourism.
To assist Kinmen in integrating and developing the core themes of "conservation, cultural preservation, and eco-historical tourism," the Executive Yuan approved the "Kinmen Spotlight Plan," investing over NT$1.1 billion in constructing bicycle paths, trails, and battle experience programs that connect tourist attractions while promoting low-carbon tourism and cultural preservation.
The Conference adopted "Review and Prospects" as its theme, exploring climate change, social resilience, and sustainable development to outline a blueprint for the next 30 years of Kinmen National Park while deepening international connections.
