The documentary "The Rover" will hold a special high-mountain screening on December 6th at the Wuling Visitor Center of Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters. Through serene and delicate imagery, the film portrays the relationship between people and mountains.
According to Shei-Pa Headquarters: This screening holds special meaning for mountaineers, as the film's protagonist spent years walking the alpine trails within Shei-Pa and worked as a high-mountain porter at both Jiujiu and Qika Cabins. Many hikers still remember seeing him in the cabin kitchens and during the evening hours. "The Rover" preserves these images and the collective memories of an entire generation of mountaineers.
The director noted: To capture his life's journey, the film crew ventured into the Central Mountain Range over fifty times, visiting Yushan, Dabajian Mountain, Xueshan, Qilai Mountain, and the Hehuan peaks. In 2021, the filming team received special permission from the Headquarters to enter the park for extended on-site filming in the alpine areas.
