The Spring in Kenting

Here, there is no sudden awakening as when the snow melts on Mt. Jade, nor the rainbow colors of the blossom that brighten Yangmingshan.

When, then, does the spring arrive in Kenting? The wind gives the hint.

When the relentless chinook wind gives way and weakens, and the cool southwest wind starts blowing, Spring has arrived in Kenting.

With the gradually rising temperature and humidity, each life that's ready to come alive is reminded of the time.

Waves crush on the black reefs, green algae softens the sharp reefs; Firey red blossoms cover the Indian coral tree, bring liveliness to the spring. Suddenly, the coral tree is turned into a paradise of honey and nectar for the feathered friends.

The sense of spring ripples and sways in the air, making the golden birdwind butterflies dance in the waves of love.

All comes alive in the warmth of the spring, and the water fowls that resides in Longluan Lake, too, molt their winter coats for summer plumage, getting ready to return to their northern home.

As the migratory birds journey north, Kenting is returned to the residential birds. Taiwan bulbul sings in the joy of spring.

In April, the southern cross shines in the night sky. The corals sing the songs of life.

Comes May, the long expected Plum Rain season starts as the rain graces the land, enriching the soil that is ready for the bright summer days to come.
