Spring.Taijiang
In the fish ponds, on the deserted salt flats, on the river estuaries, by the tidal trenches, in the mangrove forests…
When did these gently colored water birds blush them with a touch of color?
As I walk along the meandering trails that cris-cross through the fish ponds, there are signs of Spring and newly emerging leaves and buds on both sides of the trails …
Everything is waiting for the awakening of life; brewing and preparing for the season of life to come.
The delicate black-faced guests that have traveled from afar have kept themselves well fed throughout the winter,
And now they are decorated with bright yellow headdresses and plumages, excited, playing and becoming anxious for their long journey north for reproduction.
On the other hand, the land that had been nurturing the precious local crops is now resting, and the waters that produced rich nutrients are now the paradise that serves as a cafeteria and hotel for the birds.
Group by group, they lower their heads busy in feeding; they are happy and delighted.
When the strong northeastern seasonal winds start to fade away along the coasts, the sun of the southern countries begins to warm up.
There is no explosion of deliciously colorful flowers. Instead, the Spring of Taijiang is subtly tucked away in every corner.
Spring is here.
