It was built long ago as a shortcut over the mountains of Yangmingshan, enabling deliveries of fish from the sea. The trail is still in good condition and surrounded by old cultural sites and splendid natural scenery.

M: Sure. In the past three thousand years, many tribes used to reside in the Shei-Pa National Park and its adjacent islands. From those archaeological relics spreading near Cijiawan Creek and Da-an River Houlong Creek in the early Neolithic Age, to the later Atayal and Saisiyat indigenous cultures, all fill this land with quintessential humanistic and cultural aura.

M: In Kenting National Park and its adjacent area, currently over 70 prehistoric sites have been discovered, represented by the Kenting and Eluanbi prehistoric sites. Kenting Prehistoric site was the first one to be discovered, and it also became the threshold of Taiwan’s archaeological study with important value.

protect historically and culturally important sites and battlefield monuments, along with the conservation of natural resources. Traditional villages and architecture are the richest cultural assets of Kinmen National Park. You may enjoy the traditional settlements of Ouchu, Sheitou… etc in this area. Why not just spend more days here and go to them all! You will regret for missing any of them.
